Since I moved to Chicago last August I have been lucky enough to meet, perform alongside, and most importantly listen to some truly amazing musicians in the city. Specifically, what’s dope about being a drummer is the comradery that the drumming community shares which was certainly true when I met Myron and Gabe.
Myron Cherry (left) is a renowned Chicago musician and drummer for The Blu-Print. Gabriel Wallace (center) is the drummer for multi-platinum recording group Gorillaz. Throughout the past couple months Myron and Gabe have shared their love for drumming, vinyl records, and of course chilling at The Drum Pad in Palatine, IL (which has the largest percussion inventory in the country) with me. I hate to use the “kid in a candy shop” reference here, but YUP it’ s like that!

We’re back at the Cubby Bear this Friday!
This time the Main Squeeze and Cracajac will be opening up.
Cracajac 9:00
Main Squeeze 10:00
Jip Jop 11:00

Hello people! During the holiday season I always take the time to venture back home to Philadelphia for family, friends and of course GREAT food. This past trip home to Upper Darby was especially fantastic because I was lucky enough to join my childhood friend Andrew Kochman, a fellow vinyl enthusiast with a wonderful ear for great music, dig through one of the largest collections of 45′s and LP’s in the nation at R & B Records.

Hopefully everyone’s 2011 is off to a good start.
